Cat Rapes Dog spelar i år (2019) på Wave Goth Treffen i Leipzig för första gången på 10 år, och det var 20 år sedan de spelade live här i Stockholm, då på bl.a. Tech Noir.

Cat Rapes Dog (CRD) är ett svenskt electropunk, EBM och heavy metal band, som bildades 1986 av Joel Rydström och Magnus Fransson. 1994 anslöt Jonas Avertoft och 1997 John Lindqwister.
Annelie Bertilsson anslöt till bandet 1990 inför 12″ “Fundamental” och blev efter detta permanent medlem. Cat Rapes Dog albumdebuterade med “Maximum Overdrive” 1989 som året därpå fick sin uppföljare med “God, Guns & Gasoline”.

Inledningsvis släppte bandet själva ett antal album på kassett (då en trend följt av många självständiga akter av sin typ), plus ett kassettalbum och vinylsinglar på svenska skivbolaget Front Music Production.

Mellan 1989 och 1991 släppte CRD tre studioalbum på KK Records, ett belgisk oberoende skivbolag som specialiserat sig på New Beat, EBM & Industrial (Frontline Assembly/Vomito Negro etc) och släppte över 300 titlar mellan 1987 och 1996. Flera CRD album släpptes senare på svenska Energy Records (Die Krupps/VNV Nation/Front 242 etc) och Subspace Communications (Covenant/Apoptygma Berzerk etc) och senast på Artoffact Records i Toronto, Kanada (2013).

Bandet gjorde sitt stora genombrott under 1993 med “Moosehair Underwear”, som producerades av Die Krupps-duon Jürgen Engler och Chris Lietz i deras kända Atom H studio. Under inspelningarna av uppföljaren “Biodegradable” (1995) lämnade originalsångaren Joel Rydstöm oväntat bandet vilket ledde till en nästan tre år lång paus innan man 1998 återvände med “The Secrets of God” med den nye sångaren John Wreibo Lindqwister och den nye medlemmen Jonas Avertoft efter att man också gort ett skivbolagsbyte från Energy Rekords till SubSpace Communications.

Cat Rapes Dog will play this year’s Wave Goth Treffen festival in Leipzig for the first time in 10 years, and it 20 years ago as they played live here in Stockholm, at the club Tech Noir.

Cat Rapes Dog (CRD) is a Swedish electropunk, EBM and heavy metal band, which was formed in 1986 by Joel Rydström and Magnus Fransson. Jonas Avertoft started in 1994 and John Lindqwister 1997.

Initially, the band released a number of albums on cassette themselves (then a trend followed by many independent acts of their genre), plus a cassette album and vinyl singles at the Swedish record label Front Music Production.

The band made their big breakthrough in 1993 with the album “Moosehair Underwear”, which was produced by Die Krupps duo Jürgen Engler and Chris Lietz in their famous Atom H studio. During the recordings of the album “Biodegradable” (1995), the original singer Joel Rydstöm left the band unexpectedly, which led to an almost three-year break before returning in 1998 with “The Secrets of God” with the new singer John Wreibo Lindqwister and the new member Jonas Avertoft, and also changed labels from Energy Records to SubSpace Communications.

The Guilt

“Döden i disco och dansen i revolutionen”
The Guilt är ett udda koncept av dansanta melodier och punk, kombinerat i en svettig live show. Det är tung sång, enkla beats och gitarrskrammel.

Bandet är en skrikande lazerpunk erfarenhet, liten, men mycket explosiv. Emma (sång) och Tobias (gitarrer och beats) spelar högt och enkelt, var som helst, när som helst. Du vill dansa och skrika. Du vill ha The Guilt.

2012 gjorde punkrock-duon The Guilt sin första spelning. Emma och Tobias bor i Malmö, men allt började i Helsingborg, med ett överväldigande behov av att spela högt och enkelt.

Sedan bandet startade har huvudfokus varit att spela när och vart som helst. Den enkla uppställningen har gjort det möjligt att servera punkrockdisco på loungebarer, gallerier, lägenheter, kontor, lador och arenor över hela Europa.

År 2015 släppte The Guilt sin första EP med namnet “Die” på Heptown Records och 2016 på Suicide Records släpptes singeln “Dance to the Revolution”. Sången inspirerades av Emma Goldman-citatet “Om jag inte kan dansa, är det inte min revolution”, i tider då det är mer än viktigt att göra båda.

“The death in disco and the dance in revolution”
The Guilt is a quirky concept of dancy tunes and punk aggression all combined in a sweaty live show. It’s heavy vocals, simple beats and busted guitar hammering.

The Guilt from Sweden is a screaming lazerpunk experience, small but highly explosive. Emma (vocals) and Tobias (guitars and beats) play loud and simple, where ever, when ever. You want to dance and scream. You want The Guilt.

In 2012 punkrock duo The Guilt made their first appearances. Emma (vocals) and Tobias (instruments)reside in Malmö, but it all began in Helsingborg, Sweden, with an overpowering need for playing loud and simple.

Since the band started the main focus has been to play however, whenever, wherever. The simple set-up have made it possible to dish out punkrock disco at lounge bars, galleries, apartments, offices, barns and venues all over Europe.

In 2015 The Guilt released their first EP named ”Die” on Heptown Records and on Swedish label Suicide Records in 2016 the single ”Dance to the Revolution” was released. The song was inspired by the Emma Goldman quote “If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution”, in times when it’s more than important than ever to do both.
