Pressrelease

Vånna Inget is punk with pop melodies and melodic vocals. The inspiration for the album is a jumble of Tant Strul, Pink Champagne, The Go-Go’s, old Uggla, Håkan Hellström and Marked Men.

The album “Allvar” is filled with musical spontaneity without to much studio work with choirs and guitars. It should sound so sad and vivid as possible. The album was recorded in guitarist Tommy Tift (Sista Sekunden) studio by the band themselves.

Everyone in the band come from small places around Småland, Sweden and the country side rather than the big city, that inspired the band to this album. Everybody in the band has now moved to the big city, away from small town small mind mentality.

Singer Karolina Engdahl sings with a passion and the anxiety squirts out of her jaw. Bas player Johan Ottosson laid his bas with depth and with drummer Andréas Almqvist and Tifts guitar, they deliver a carpet of beautiful noise.

Band members play in or have played in such as band like Sista Sekunden, A Good Deed, The Confession, Speakeasy, Civilisationen, The Part Timers and Morsans Gula Blend.

Vånna Inget has a sound like other Swedish bands – Masshysteri, Knugen Faller, Baboon Show, Invasionen, etc. They are bands that have given punk a little more melodic vein. Vånna Inget have turned down the distortion and added some more minor chords and vocal harmonies but the intensity, anxiety and the energy is there anyway, like new wave music that was a reaction after the punk explosion in 1977.

April 16, Sweden’s record shops get together and participate in the annual international Record Store Day. The aim is to focus on the unique breadth and depth, in both knowledge and product range, which is shared by all enthusiastic record dealers around the country and to celebrate the love of music.
There will be live performances, record signings, and selected products at special prices throughout the week. Record Store Day began in 2008 with that Metallica did a live appearance in the record store Rasputin Music in San Francisco.

Along with Record Heaven and HepTown Records the HepCat Store will pick up hot vinyl records and CDs and other exciting music things to show that the record market are not stalled completely but flourishes in circles of music lovers and musicians.

Live in the store will be The Men (including members from Sinners, Girls, Colubrids, Thee Expression and Varanteatern), together with Zerox (including members from Sinners, Langhorns and Rädsla). So, wants to see that there is a strong cultural life in Lund, this is proof that it simmers in the underworld and it still kicks up!

At the same day Hepcat will release some Pop Stad Lund merchandise, including a T-shirt for upcoming exhibition at Kulturen in Lund, Sweden which takes place in the autumn – “25 år som förändrade en stad – och om alla oss som förändrades med den”. It will be neat, nice and well-packaged.

The Men is celebrating their 10 years anniversary and has so far released three albums and several singles. The band played two gigs in Australia last January.
The band’s third album ‘Four Good Men and True “was released in March 2010 by Heptown Records, the record company is housed in the same house as HepCat shop.
The Men, Sven Köhler, vocals & harmonica (formerly The Sinners) Ola Främby, bass (formerly The Girls) Olof Wallberg, guitar (former Colubrids, Varanteatern) Niklas Kilenstam, drums (ex-Thee Expression).

Zerox is the pick of a large part of Lund’s music scene, serving 77-punk, new wave & power pop for the enlightened elect of the sages.

Snutjävel is a punk band from Falköping, Sweden, which since 2004 almost always only worked with cassettes and vinyl records. They have refused all that the modern music industry sees as a must. But…

- “2011 is the year we are doing everything we promised never to do”, says the band in an interview.

Just like the Swedish punk band Asta Kask once released”Aldrig en LP” just to mess with themselves, is now Snutjävel releasing  ”Aldrig i Helvete” on CD. As the history is told Asta Kask promised, back in the days, that they never gonna do a full-length album and the rest is history – Snutjävel going in the same footsteps now and release a full-length CD.

Hi-Speed rockabilly – straight, honest and dangerous!

Behind Astrolites there are no secrets; it’s pure and honest rock ‘n’ roll. Astrolites live what they preach – out to their fingertips. With a passion for hot rods, cool motorcycles and awesome music, they know what they are talking about and can supply it. It is explosive, well played and more authentic than this, it’s not many bands in this genre that can deliver. At an Astrolites live performances can not help but draw a smile or to be carried away by the intense soundbites.

Since their debut “Hard Luck” in 2007, they have toured widely in most parts of Europe. The music has been heard on soundtracks and a variety of compilations, most recently the acclaimed rockabilly tribute sampler “DANCING ON YOUR GRAVES” to the Hellacopters.

Astrolites have taken their influences from be-bop, swing, rockabilly, surf and punk. All the ingredients are mixed with the bands intense live prominence to their own style which they call “Hi-Speed rockabilly”.
“Play For Keeps” prove their capacity to do so.

The trio has shared the stage with such International acts Caravans, Slim Jim Phantom, Darrel Higham, Devil Doll, Mad Sin, Go Getters, and felt the Baseballs on the pulse.

Astrolites was born in 2002 as Tom Wilson & Astrolites. Three years later set the current setting when the singer and guitarist Örjan Jonsson (Raging HELL BILLY’S, ALIEN COWBOYS) was joined by drummer Marku Kallunki (Raging HELL BILLY’S, ALIEN
COWBOYS) and the legendary bas player Uno Eiving (BLACK OUT, JACK BAYMORE,
GREEN Kryptonite, right now album debut with “Radiation”).
